It is with super sad hearts that we let you all know about the loss of our boy Remi.
Remi was a beautiful blue heeler cattle dog who was rescued after spending his first four years chained to his doghouse. It was a stormy raining night when Remi came to us. He was wet and muddy. But oh so very happy to ride shotgun in his foster mom’s front seat on his freedom ride. It quickly became apparent that Remi was going to be a “foster fail”. Remi was a smart, sweet and all around fun boy. He loved to play fetch. He could catch a frisbee or a ball thrown for him because he was super fast. He would bring the toy back and put it at your feet and look up at you and if you didn’t bend down and pick it up to throw it fast enough, he would pick it up himself and slam it down on your feet and look at you as to say “hey, we are doing something here, so get in the game dude”
We learned that he not only liked to fetch in the yard, but he also liked to fetch in the pool. He loved his pool fetching and swimming so much that we decided to let him try out some formal competition dock diving. His little chunky cattle dog frame jumped consistently almost 20 feet every time, winning him, lots of ribbons and accolades for his dock diving adventures. But most of all he loved to work and please.
It seems like time goes by too fast because it was just August and he was swimming in the pool chasing his toy and he was chasing his ball the evening before he passed.
He was definitely a special boy and we loved him and will miss him greatly as there definitely is not another one like him.
Enjoy your playtime over the rainbow bridge Remi, tell Happy we miss her too. We love you buddy 🌈 🐾
