Mayday Witherspoon
April 2004 - June 30 2022
A bundle of joy from the very beginning with his personality that kept you grinning. Mayday was a cat by definition but for those who knew him, he was so much more. He was a pillar to those on East Central Avenue, no matter if it was killing snakes or other scary creatures of the night, guarding deliveries and making friends with the Amazon, UPS, & FED-EX drivers. Also monitoring the speed limit by laying in the middle of the road or simply strolling from house to house to say hello and beg for food of course, everyone loved Mayday. Although he was a cat, Mayday’s favorite game was chicken and his favorite opponent was his human mom, especially when she came home from a tiring day at work. He enjoyed hanging out on the porch and greeting visitors and through the many years of his life Mayday served as a mentor and protector to his fellow felines. There’s no doubt there will never be another with the personality, friendliness or sass that Mayday used to fill our family and community's hearts with joy. He will be missed to that there’s no doubt but we’ll always remember what Mayday was about. Animal Heaven will be his next stop where he’ll be reunited with all his old friends like Catfish, Lexie and the others who left before him.
