Max Lackey

Max Lackey crossed the rainbow bridge on Monday, October 31, 2022, in his sleep.

Born August 16, 2008 in Hickory, NC, Max was the son of Cody Lackey. He is survived by his mom Mariam and two human siblings, Theo and Sophie, and his grandparents (and later in life full-time caregivers) Susan and Rick. He was preceded in death by his doggie brother, Milo (who undoubtedly welcomed him ecstatically on the other side).

Max loved speaking his mind, all the food, uninterrupted naps, and all things Susan. He was less than impressed with water, whether it be bath, rain, or ocean. He became so attached to his Nana Susan, that he went to live with her full-time, where he received all the love and snacks his little heart desired.

He has been a constant companion through joy, grief, and many moves. We will think of him any time the doorbell rings, food is dropped on the floor, or we need that extra snuggle at night. He will forever be missed and remembered but we are happy that he is no longer suffering and know that he was so well loved.
