A very good friend had this sweet puppy and she wondered if I would want to add her to our family. We met China and knew she would fit right in. Holly and her daughter Laura were her first mommies, I don’t mind being her second mamma. Seems the mammas didn’t matter much though, she was a daddies girl through and through. The sun rose and set with Scott. She would hang out with me some, and occasionally sleep with me but when he got in bed, she was up on his pillow or the last few years on his feet. In the car, she could be on my lap or on a pillow, nope on his arm or his belly. Scott’s little buddy for sure.
But don’t get me wrong, as soon as Chirsten, Caleb, Lyric, or Ida Hope came over we both were chopped liver and she would be with them. So she was an equal opportunity brown noser.
When we moved to the beach though, and my health changed…she was all about being with me and making sure I was ok. It was like she knew. She was my little light in so much darkness. She saved me, period.
She loves her people so much, her grandparents John and Lena, Ruby and Eugene, her uncles and aunts, Todd and Lisa, Tommy and Teresa, Debbie and Charles, Chris and all of her cousins. Most of all her babies Snoopy (mamma/daddy Lena and John), Justice (mamma/daddy Amanda and John), Ava (daddy/mamma Tommy and Teresa), and Toby (mamma/daddy Nylene and Donnie). All are family, so we get to see the babies pretty frequently especially Snoop dog!
She will be missed so much, even though she wanted everything on your plate she never would touch it without permission. You said her whole name China Grace Herman (lol) Lail and she knew she was in trouble and she would tuck her tail and head under something. But, it was rare she was in trouble. The girl loved her treats, would do anything, even give up kisses for a treat. Daddy, her all time favorite human, taught her bang your dead in about 5 minutes with treats. I’m sure they’re in Heaven now in a recliner snuggled up in mom and Poppy’s mansion!
Thank you all that loved her, my beach family, Conover/Newton and Morganton families. She never met a stranger and never hardly touched a floor because someone was always picking her up. She loved that attention. Give your fur babies an extra treat for me and China today. And remember how you are blessed that they choose to love you, even when we aren’t at our best.
We love you China Bell.
